Day 2 of our holiday started with a unique adventure. We had booked ourselves onto a session of underground golf at Zip World Llechwedd. On our way there, as we had plenty of time, we stopped off at Cwmorthin waterfall. The instructions that Nicole found stated that it was a 10 minute stroll from the car park to the waterfall, however in reality it was a lot less than this. The waterfall is the start of a longer walk if you want to adventure further. As we were just stopping off, we admired the waterfall and then journeyed on.
After checking in at Zip World and making sure we were kitted up with our safety helmets, we started our underground golf session. For this, we headed underground on the cable railway to an unused cave which was kitted out as an 18-hole crazy golf course on four levels. The course itself offered plenty of challenging obstacles, and even included a slide to get down to the final two holes. Somehow Shannon seems to keep winning when we play crazy golf, and today was no exception. It was a fantastic experience and something we would definitely love to do again in the future!
As the weather had improved from yesterday, we went ahead with the plans to explore Llandudno, and specifically the Great Orme. There are three different options of how to travel up to this headland: by foot, by car and by tram. We opted for the Great Orme Tramway so it gave us a more special experience, although this wasn't without its problems at times. We didn't realise until getting up to the halfway station that you need to change onto a different tram to travel to the summit, and then repeat this for the way down. This resulted in a few delays in both directions. Despite this, the views from the tram were incredible and it was a fun way to travel. Once at the summit, we went on a walk around the headland to explore the area and soak up the views. There are a few different walks on offer, but choice should really depend on how much you want to walk up / down hills.
After a busy day, we headed back to our accomodation to make some tea and prepare for the next day.
